Chew Valley Reiki - Relax Rebalance Revitalise
About Me!

I am a Reiki Master and qualified non-practising Occupational Therapist with clinical experience working in the NHS. I also have an additional qualification in Anxiety Management. After benefiting from Reiki treatments while suffering from M.E. and depression, I decided to find out more about Reiki and received a course of Reiki treatments before deciding to receive Level 1 and 2 Attunements in 2001 and 2002. I became a Reiki Master in 2003 following my own personal healing, extensive study and research. Reiki is something I am passionate about and would like to pass on the benefits to others.

I am a Reiki Master/Practitioner-Teacher member of the UK Reiki Federation and fully insured to practice Reiki. I am based in Chew Magna in the beautiful Chew Valley, 8 miles south of Bristol and practice at the Mendip Complementary Health Centre in Winscombe, The Strand Spa, Chew Magna and the Pierian Centre, Bristol. Mobile appointments are also available throughout the Chew Valley, North East Somerset, Bristol, Wells and Glastonbury.

Thank you so much for my wonderful day with you, I not only learnt Reiki 1 but I feel I have made a new friend aswell.
I have done some Reiki on myself and felt tingling in my hands aswell as my feet but the greatest feeling I get is when I put my hands on my shoulders.
                                                                                Karen, Reiki 1

I first came to Chew Valley Reiki a year ago with severe hip pain. I tried physio for four months prior to this and was then referred  to a specialist who recommended a course of three treatments of collagen injections which would cost me £150 per session and be extrememly painful. In the meantime a friend had suggested that I tried Reiki. I was very sceptical to say the least and could not believe how Reiki could help take away such agonising pain. Every morning it took me literally ten minutes to get dressed due to the pain so i was prepared to try anything. After only four Reiki treatments the pain had dramatically subsided and I could not believe it. From then on I started to attend the weekly Reiki share group where I still go.

Janice was very approachable, professional and friendly and put my mind at ease. She saved me alot of money and the discomfort of very painful injections and for that I am eternally grateful to Janice and Reiki. Since then I've also had my Level 1 and 2 Reiki attunements so now I pass on Reiki to my family and friends.  A massive thank you to Janice.

For almost a year I had been suffering from a frozen shoulder, I was in constant pain and had all but lost the use of my left arm as it was impossible to lift above shoulder height or stretch it in any direction. All my GP could do was offer pain killers and reassurance that it was a temporary condition. The pain meant that I was unable to sleep or exercise properly and, as a result, I was putting on weight and suffering physiologically from lack of sleep. This was in turn taking its toll on my working and social life.  I was, to coin a phrase, in a downward spiral and I could see no way of turning things around and regaining some quality of life.

However things did turn around for me and in a very dramatic way, following a chance meeting with Janice where she explained to me what Reiki was and how she felt it could help me. I  was amazed that within hours I could notice an easing of the pain. Janice explained that all things physical, emotional and spiritual are in fact connected and if one is not right it can affect the others.

Just a couple of months down the line and my shoulder is healed, pain-free at last, apart from a little stiffness which is being helped by gentle exercise.

Janice is a fantastic and dedicated healer and teacher, her enthusiasm and energy is inspiring and you can't fail to be touched by her energy for life which, as she will tell you, has come about through her dedication to Reiki. She has opened my mind and showed me a new more balanced and all round healthier way of living.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the mumour of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.    Sir John Lubbock (1834-1913)
